Sanada Yukimura, a samurai warlord, who lead Toyotomi clan in the Siege of Osaka undertaken by the Tokugawa shogunate against Toyotomi clan. He fought remarkably but died in the battle. He was acknowledged as the best fighter in Japan, from his stunning fight. In Zao Town, there are still historical sties related to Sendai Sanada.
The relationship between our local area and the blood line of Sanada Yukimura started at night on 6th May in Keicho 20 (1615) when Oume, fifth dauther of Sanada Yukimura was secretly delivered to Katakura Shigenaga, who was spearhead of Date Masamune. For the timeframe of 400 years, a lot of traces have been left in the town and it has been passed down today. How about visiting the traces of Sendai Sanada?
