In Zao Town, mountain stream fishing is allowed from 1st March to 30th September every year. Let's put yourself in the wilderness of Zao Town and enjoy the mountain stream fishing.
※ From October to February, it is the fishing ban period.
You can catch Char and others only with a fishing rod alone.
When you do mountain stream fishing, it is necessary to purchase "Fishing Ticket" from Zao Tourist Information Center etc.

※ "Annual Ticket" will be on sale from early February, while "1 Day Ticket" will be on sale from 1st March.
Mountain stream fishing spots / Sumi River, Akiyamasawa, Koaterasawa
Please note that in the early spring, due to the influence of snowmelt water, there is also the danger of freshet/ avalanches.
In addition to the mountain stream fishing, in Zao Town, there are also fishing ponds that even beginners can enjoy easily. You can mainly catch Yamame (a kind of trout), Char, and Rainbow trout.
Following the sign on Prefectural Road No. 12, you will arrive at "Ohtaki Mountain Stream Fishing Pond". They can teach you how to fish, so even beginners can enjoy.
You can catch as many fish as you want for 2 hours at 1,500 yen. Fishing rods are available for free, and baits are 600 yen. So you can bring nothing.
You can also grill the fish you catch with charcoal and taste it on the spot. Charcoal is also available. Please enjoy the fresh fish.

Similarly, following Prefectural Road No. 12 on the right hand side, there is "Eboshi Mountain Stream Fishing Pond" where you can enjoy fishing as much as you want for 2 hours at 1,500 yen. You can rent a fishing rod for 100 yen.

Price: 1,500 yen for fishing as many as you want for 2 hours (Same price for adult and children)

The Zao Forest Springs in Nanokahara is in the Quasi-National Park. You can enjoy fishing over a day in a great location with a view of the Zao Mountain Range.
Let's complete all the 6 different ponds. You can take five fish back home.
